Escape the hustle and bustle of the season and bring history to life with new holiday traditions. The Southwest Franklin County Historical Society, the City of Grove City and Grove City Town Center, Inc. invite you to celebrate an evening of old-style holiday fun on the Christmas Trolley Tour. Stop by Century Village, 4185 Orders Road; the Grant-Sawyer Home, 4126 Haughn Road; or the Grove City Welcome Center and Museum, 3378 Park St., to enjoy a trolley ride to each destination. Tours end at 7:30 p.m.

Century Village offers a charming Christmas experience complete with historical buildings adorned with traditional decorations. Enjoy music, wassail and cookies, and visits with Saint Nick. Purchase old-fashioned, handmade holiday gift items. The 40th Regiment will set up a Civil War encampment to depict winter clothing and activities in the fire pit area of the village.

At the Grove City Welcome Center and Museum, visitors can view a holiday display featuring festive decorations from Grove City’s past including a quaint model train village and listen to player piano performances of period Christmas music.

Experience old-time wonder at the Grant-Sawyer Home with period-appropriate holiday finery. Tours are free, but donations to the Grove City Food Pantry of non-perishable food items are encouraged.

The City’s Christmas tribute to the Nutcracker continues with an animated window display reminiscent of retail displays from the 1950s depicting fanciful scenes from the classic tale of Clara and the battle between her beloved Nutcracker and the Mouse King at City Hall, 4035 Broadway. The display operates Monday through Friday, 4 to 10 p.m., and noon to 10 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
