View Online Request GuideThis is the largest FREE 5K-9 dog walk/run in Ohio.
Sunday October 4h at Breck Park in Grove City, Ohio. This is a walk or run. Bring your dog if you want.
SOCIAL DISTANCING — This year the 5K-9 will run from 9AM to 3PM on Sunday, October 4, 2020. Depending on the number of registrations we may include Saturday as well in order to spread walkers out. Walkers will sign up for a specific starting time slot. Registration will happen at designated locations on Thur, Fri, and Saturday prior to the event, participants will also pick up their t-shirt and map. We will email you closer to the event with your registration location to pick up your shirt and map prior to event.
The day of the event our sponsors on the route will host water breaks, information tables, or rest stops as needed to engage the walkers.
All walkers will be required to walk in safe trusted groups (family/close trusted friends) and must maintain a 20 foot distance between walking groups without a mask. All participants will be required to wear masks closer than 20ft and at ALL stops. We will have volunteers on the course to help and remind all participants of safe distancing.
During your online registration you will sign up for a time slot. Time slots are designed to simply space walkers out. If you miss your slot you can wait at Breck Park and we will get you into the rotation.
DONATIONS – We are asking that all donations be in the form of gift cards, including gas, pet store, Amazon or local grocery stores to limit contact. In addition, Speak for the Unspoken has a WISH LIST on line that will be publicized—participants will be able to purchase and send items from the wish list and provide proof of purchase as their entry ‘fee’. This will also limit contact during the event.

HISTORY OF EVENT –
In March of 2016 Councilman Ted Berry was sued by Pet Land Inc. for passing legislation to prevent the sale of puppy mill dogs in the City. The company personally sued the Councilman and the City of Grove City. After a significant lobbying effort by Pet Land the Ohio General Assembly passed legislation to overturn the Grove City Ordinance. Committed to the cause of finding forever homes for our rescues Councilman Berry hosts this annual event that has brought hundreds of families out.
In 2019 over 510 walkers and 257 dogs participated raising a total estimated $14,781.00 in value (gift cards, food donations, and toys)
The event remains FREE, however, we ask for a donation of gas and pet store gift cards as well
